So it’s that time of year again to be merry and joyous; wherever you are from, or whatever your culture, it’s a nice time of year to reflect on the past 12 months. Even in Sharm el Sheikh you can’t escape the tinsel, so let us ‘deck the halls with boughs of holly’ ‘tis the season to be merry’ and enjoy the season’s end. This is our little round-up of 2014.
2014 has been quite a year for the Red Sea Diving College team and we are looking forward to a brilliant 2015. If you ask many of our Dive Instructors they will tell you, 2014 was a super sightings year. With a little less diver traffic there was noticeably more fish life. On a regular basis our guests and guides were spotting Hammerheads, Whitetips, Grey Reef, Whale Sharks and the odd Tiger or two. We even had a spotting of a Mola Mola (sunfish) and of course everyone’s favourite many Mantarays.
Other memorable moments in the year was when our Instructors worked hard and had great fun with our two main educational student groups. The Red Sea Diving College is renowned as the premiere teaching facility in Sharm, due to this excellent reputation we are chosen year after year to host two elite student groups; the Blue Coats from the UK and Hedmarktoppen College from Hamar, Norway. It’s a fun yet busy week when most of the students either complete their PADI Open Water Course or become PADI Advanced Open Water Divers.
The other noteworthy milestone for the College in 2014 was the return of Khaled Mahmoud as the Operations Manager. Khaled took over from Matt Kitchiner, who after many years of dedication decided to hang up his fins and swap them for Skis. Apart from managing the operations of the College and Waterworld at the Hyatt Regency, he also ran as our PADI Course Director, the last PADI Instructor Development Course of the season.
So that is a small round-up of 2014, now let us bring on 2015. We are wishing all of our diving guests a warm and prosperous New Year with health and happiness. We will give you warmth in the Red Sea, we will give you prosperity with our Platinum points loyalty scheme, we will give you health (as diving is a sport and good exercise) and we will give you happiness with the experience of our amazing underwater world. Just book your flights and we will do the rest, as we are ‘The Original and still the Best”.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
