The 5th of August was a momentous day! Neil Armstrong (the first man to walk on the moon) was born, the cornerstone of the Statue of Liberty was laid, hit Beatles song Yellow Submarine was released and down in the Southern Tip of the Sinai something great began. In the late eighties the number of divers visiting Sharm was increasing but there was very little to offer anyone who wanted to learn to dive. Aquamarine Diving Centre; which was established over 30 years ago, decided to branch out with Red Sea Diving College as they saw a definite need in the market for a facility which catered to the student diver!
Starting with a completely blank slate, a plan to enable a purpose built facility to revolutionise diver education in the Red Sea was devised. Opening the doors on 5th August 1991 the College hit the ground running with the demand for courses exceeding all initial expectations. Gradually student divers began to insist on making guided dives with our expert instructors and so Red Sea Diving College began to branch out into daily diving as well.
When the college began, the owners wanted to create a facility which was run by dive enthusiasts and could offer a service which not only provided first class teaching facilities but also created a fun holiday atmosphere. With a whole host of awards and commendations from PADI, Diving Publications and various regulatory bodies, I think we can call this a success!
